Gris Neutre began in 2010 with an encounter between Sara Bento de Castro, illustrator and fashion designer, Marisa Ferra, fashion designer and Joana Gonçalo Oliveira, anthropologist.

The debate of ideas and activities intertwined in this fellowship has led to the creation of a fashion label that produces series of fashion accessories and exclusive pieces in pure silk. The products result from the combination of manual production – the creation of an original handmade drawing-, and industrial production – the drawing’s digital print on fabric – revealing the historical and transforming potential of past traces in the present moment. The textile imagery displays the ostentation of organic forms that are framed or even crossed by rigid geometries, where detailed fashion images are simultaneously revealed.

The result is fashionable luxury pieces of enduring beauty.
